FFCC brings together the leaders who hold the responsibility, accountability and resources to make their places thrive.
Together we are working through barriers that have long seemed intractable, with a clear focus on economic prosperity, resilience and adaptability. Practical, inspiring stories show another way is possible. We’ve now started working in places across the UK.
FFCC works across all four UK nations since much food and farming policy is devolved. We work with each country’s culture, political and policy landscape and share lessons across boundaries.
Sustainable Food Cornwall connects producers, community organisations and institutional buyers across the county. Working with Cornwall Council's public health team, this connects the food economy with reducing health inequality, in a county with some of England's lowest wages, highest housing costs and most entrenched coastal deprivation.
Working with Lincolnshire Food Partnership, one of Lincoln's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods, and the Lincoln and Witham Landscape Recovery project, a network of land managers, farmers and community groups, this links food production at several scales to community access to healthy food, in the county most exposed to climate impacts on food production.
In one of the UK's most important upland and dairy landscapes, this focus is on land use, nature recovery and livelihoods: building peer networks and markets that make working with nature a collective proposition rather than an individual financial risk.
Cegin y Bobl brings deep roots in Welsh food culture and whole-systems work on school food, showing clearly which barriers can only be moved with institutional leadership. Our MOU with Carmarthenshire County Council connects that work to decisions on school food, county farms, jobs and skills.
Under Scotland's Good Food Nation Act with leadership from local producers and businesses. Fife has the strategies and structures in place; the challenge now is delivery. The Scottish Food Commission, which backs the work, calls it "Good Food Nation in action".
