In a Food Foundation Pod Bites episode, Matthew Thomson, Director of Sustainable Food Cornwall, talks about From the Ground Up – a new report from the Citizen Advisory Council’s What Works Here Inquiries across the UK.
Matthew helped convene the Cornish What Works Here Inquiry, bringing together people with different connections to food systems; those who grow, catch, make, sell and share food for a living, and those with responsibilities for the health and prosperity of their regions – such as doctors and council leaders.
Citizens found a thriving food system in Cornwall (as well as in other parts of the UK) – but that the conditions in which people, organisations and businesses are operating in are holding back progress.
