Annual Report 2024-25

Radical and practical – our report of progress

24th November 2025

FFCC is a time-limited charity with a small, committed team of Commissioners, Trustees and dedicated staff, spread across the four countries of the UK.

This annual report accounts for the second year of our current three-year strategy – with three standout achievements from our extensive work programme:

  • First, engaging hundreds of citizens across the UK in a deliberative process in The Food Conversation, to explore their attitudes to food and farming, and what they want from food policy.
  • Second, land use. Our longstanding advocacy for a Land Use Framework was rewarded with Defra’s Consultation on Land Use in January 2025, which we supported in a number of ways.
  • Third, two significant contributions to the debate about the future of farming and the power dynamics of the food chain with The False Economy of Big Food and Paying the Price reports.

In 2025/26 we will focus on delivering our strategic plan, bringing new coalitions of leaders together, and amplifying citizens’ and grassroots voices, in effective and collective advocacy.
