Since leaders in UK land use met at St George's House in February this year, the world has dramatically changed. If Brexit represented an unfrozen moment, Covid-19 forces the hand of decision-makers to act now: we are entering a new era and the decisions we take now will define our new settlement for decades to come.

The paper outlines three key contributions a land use framework can make in England:

  1. Achieving the government's priorities
  2. Resolving conflicts over land use
  3. Contributing to UK leadership in tackling climate change
