A new report from #TheFoodConversation on how citizens see the food system – and their appetite for government intervention.
19th November 2024
This report presents some early findings from The Food Conversation, where over 300 citizens have taken part in citizens' assemblies on the food system.
Ahead of the publication of full findings from #TheFoodConversation in 2025, the report shows citizens conclude that the current food system is unfair, unhealthy and unsustainable. They want the government to put measures in place to improve leadership across the system, address power imbalances, ensure learning and collaboration, get a fairer deal for farmers, and unlock the power of local areas.
The report is also accompanied by a Citizen Manifesto – an early preview of the top five messages citizens want decision makers to hear, ahead of the launch of the National Citizen Manifesto in 2025.
