We publish our most recent proposal for a Land Use Framework for England
13th December 2022
In our 2019 report Our Future in the Land, we recommended a Land Use Framework for England. Since then, we have been working with local and national stakeholders to develop a practical, systems approach, workable for everyone, and at national and local spatial scales. Today we publish the latest outcome of this: our proposed Land Use Framework for England.
Alongside this framework, our two pilots in Devon and Cambridgeshire demonstrate how important it is that any land use framework must be broad, inclusive, and evidence-led, integrating the many different datasets that must support better, more sustainable decisions about land use.
This is work in progress, with partners. The latest news on our work to develop a land use framework for England can be found here.
