FFCC's Georgie Barber speaking at Westminster Social Policy Forum, on the need for joined up policymaking in land use.
28th January 2026
FFCC’s Georgie Barber spoke at the Westminster Social Policy Forum on the ‘Next steps for regional spatial planning in England’, sharing perspectives on how land use policy can better incorporate and connect food and nature.
Georgie highlighted the increasing pressures on land, and the need for strategic planning and policymaking that recognises land as a finite resource with multiple demands. Her talk emphasised that spatial planning must support joined-up decision-making on land that works for communities, nature and sustainable food production – as well as growth.
