Agroforestry on upland farms in the UK

The multiple benefits of giving livestock access to trees and hedgerows

18th January 2023

In this video from the Soil Association, supported by FABulous Farmers, we hear from three upland farmers in England, Wales and Scotland about the benefits of giving their livestock access to trees and hedgerows.

Andrew Barbour from Mains of Fincastle in Perthshire, Glasnant Morgan from Pwllyrhwyaid Farm near Brecon in Wales and Freya Meredith from Lower Withecombe Farm on Dartmoor in Devon, explain how agroforestry and silvopasture provides shelter for animals against increasingly extreme weather, makes their farm businesses more resilient, and improves soil health and biodiversity.
