FFCC brings leaders together to discuss the growing calls from businesses, farmers and citizens for a new government to act on food.
25th June 2024
Earlier this year, food businesses joined with farmers' organisations, citizens, and campaigners in the Hope Farm Statement, to call on government to introduce binding food system targets and a joined-up suite of policies to improve the public’s health, boost farm resilience, and protect nature and the environment.
As part of London Action Climate Week, we brought signatories of the Hope Farm Statement, including leaders in food and business, to discuss whether the party manifestos go far enough to meet this growing consensus for change.
Chaired by journalist Henry Mance, the speakers included Anna Taylor, Executive Director of the Food Foundation, James Mayer, President of Danone UK & Ireland, Paul Polman, ex-Unilever CEO, Nick Stace,Head of Sustainability and Social Purpose at Barclays UK, and Sue Pritchard, our Chief Executive.
