Are you a passionate communicator – good at copywriting and using social tools to get across ideas and reach new audiences? Do you have experience making short films, developing animations or writing creative content that can convince people to think differently? If so - we’re interested in talking to you.
FFCC is a fascinating place to work. We get the chance to grapple with some of the biggest questions of the time. We focus every day on practical and radical ideas to build more just and sustainable society. Globally, agriculture and land-use change account for almost a quarter of global emissions and are among the biggest drivers of biodiversity loss – it’s our job to encourage new and diverse thinking, build partnerships and help turn around these bleak statistics.
This internship is a positive action initiative, and is for somebody of Black, Asian, minority ethnic or mixed-race background. FFCC is committed to diversity, equality and inclusion and celebrates these qualities as essential principles of a fair and sustainable society. Our organisation, along with the sectors in which we work, is not representative of the diversity of UK countries and we are taking steps to address this.
Reporting to the Digital and Events Manager, you will be part of a small, but experienced and motivated, communications team led by the Director of External Relations– learning how to develop content, manage complex events, and run social media campaigns. Day to day you will be managing digital content and calendars, copywriting and editing and overseeing detailed stakeholder engagement activities, among many other things.
Understanding our work is not a prerequisite for this role, but we do want you to have a huge appetite for learning and a delight in communicating that knowledge. An undergraduate degree is preferred, but we are also interested in people who have taken other routes to get to this first step in a communications career. You will need to be detail-oriented and organised and a brilliant communicator (in writing as well as in person). We’ll be looking for evidence that you have some work experience, are self-motivated and able to work in a virtual team effectively.
This role will suit you if you have:
